Holy Crap - Canada Vs US One-on-One Soldier Tug of War (watch Video)

As long as the US and Canada have been in existence, they have shared a great deal of history. The have fought together in multiple world wars, had sports rivalries that are about as big as sports rivalries get on the world stage, mainly in hockey because of Canada's obsession with it, and shared economic ups and downs as each other's largest trading partner. Sure, like any old friends, Canada and the US have had their differences over the centuries and each country has, at one point or another, made plans to invade the other. But these plans happened a long time ago. Now we are pretty much best friends in everything we do.

In conflict in Afghanistan and other places around the globe, the US and Canada have fought side-by-side to bring peace and stability to regions that were previously ruled by groups that oppressed their populations and regions where, ultimately, terror reigned. But, as much as we are friends, we have always been and likely will always be vigorous competitors. In international sports, for example, we always hate to lose to each other and our athletes have special motivation to defeat the other side each and every time that we meet, regardless of the sport.

While this video portrays two individual soldiers, the North American rivalry is clearly alive and well here. First of all, you have to give these guys credit for answering the calls to protect their respective nations. And you have to have mad respect for how tough these guys are. Most people would probably have given up a minute or two into this thing. The fact that these dudes are doing this just for fun is also ridiculous. These guys spend most of the video pretty much deadlocked and not even moving. Then it looks like the American soldier is just going to dominate the Canadian soldier. But then the Canadian soldier somehow takes it. It doesn't really matter who won this. This was an epic battle, even if it was only a one-on-one match of tug of war. But what else would you expect from these two countries?! The US is like ten times bigger than Canada and, as most of the world does, people wonder how a small nation like Canada can ever compete with other much larger countries. Sometimes people suggest it is living in extreme cold all of the time. But most people know that we share relatively similar climates with the exception of some of the warmer places in the US. So it kind of is colder up there.
